Christina N. Alexander hails from Miami, FL. An elementary music teacher by day, she makes her AAPACT debut with The Taking of Miss Janie and is thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to bring Peggy to life on the stage. Some of her credits include: 1240-Black; Little Shop of Horrors - Ronnette; Purlie! - Aunt Missy; The Greatest Story Ne'er Told - Lucifie't. Receiving her education at New World School of the Arts, Barry University, and University of Miami, she is a proud Fighting Pigeon, Buc, and Hurricane. Look out of for her in a theatre/ on a stage near you, sometime soon... Thank you God for talent, thank you Mom life, thanks Ed Bullins for this play, thank you Teddy for your direction, thank you cast for your support. Bully for us!!!

William J. Barnes III is a native of Hampton, Virginia and an alumnus of Virginia State University and New York University. “Sizwe Bansi is Dead” is his theatrical debut. Mr. Barnes is a celebrated spoken word artist having authored a series of poetry books including, “My Little Black Book”, “Black Enough” and his latest published work, “Cravealations”. Mr. Barnes media endeavors includes an HIV’AIDS PSA for Florida International University and as an On-Air Personality and voice over artist for NOVA Southeastern University – WNSU Radio X. Mr. Barnes has also appeared in the films “Anything’s Possible” and “Ali” with Will Smith.

Dyani Batcheller is (almost) a native Floridian who has appeared in numerous plays in Gainesville, Ocala, and South Florida. Dyani’s theatrical credits include roles in Wrong Turn at Lungfish (Nurse), I Hate Hamlet (Deirdre), Come Blow Your Horn (Peggy), and The Shape of Things (Jenny). She also has worked in several commercials and films since returning to South Florida last year. Dyani holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance from University of Florida.

Charles Bonamy is not a stranger to August Wilson plays, Mr. Bonamy was featured in the role of Troy in the Wilson play Fences at the University Center for Performing Arts. He has also performed in the plays You Can’t Take It With You, Runaways and A Tomb With A View at the Pompano Players Theatre. Mr. Bonamy has been featured in numerous commercials, movie and television roles.

Viviene Dawson love for theatre has led her to perform in such plays as Shakin’ The Mess Outta Misery, The Color Purple, Double Lives, Never Nothing Again, Six Women Dancing and Prisoner . Ms. Dawson is a graduate of the School of Drama at Miami Dade College.

Darlene French White

Andre’ L. Gainey is performing in and directing “Sizwe Bansi is Dead”. He is a founding member of AAPACT. In 2002, he directed the African American Performing Arts Community Theatre debut play The Island written by Athol Fugard and recently Having Our Say – The First 100 Years of the Delaney Sisters. As an actor, Mr. Gainey’s body of work encompasses the musical Hampton House, A Raisin in the Sun, Blues for an Alabama Sky, Moon Over a Rainbow Shawl, Riff Raff, Piano Lesson, Fiction of Law, Prelude to a Kiss, Spunk and On The Porch opposite Danny Glover at the Miami Arena. He is featured in the film Ape 29 which won an independent film award. Mr. Gainey is an educator at William Turner Technical School. He is the proud father of Blaze.

Reiss Gaspard is happy to be cast in the role of Monty in “The Taking of Miss Janie”. Reiss is a regular performer with the Shakespearean Festival.

Teddy Harrell conceived AAPACT in 1998 and has directed four of its previous productions, Riff Raff, Once On this Island, co-directed Sizwe Bansi is Dead and King Hedley II. As an actor he has been featured in numerous productions in South Florida including The Island and Sizwe Bansi is Dead for AAPACT.

Carey Hart is so happy to be performing at AAPACT with Teddy Harrell & Apon Nichols at the helm in making community theatre happen. Carey most recently closed Ceremonies in Dark Old Men at the M Ensemble Theatre under the direction of Pat Reeves-Moore, Carey has toured the Dade School System with GableStage's production of Shakespeare's Sonnetts: In His Own Words. Carey has performed Drs. Carlton & Barbara Molette's Our Short Stay, at the African American Cultural Arts Center, Flyin' West, Spunk, Shakin' the Mess Otta' Misery, Zora, Robert Johnson: Trick the Devil, and Louie & Ophelia at M Ensemble, Hampton House- the musical by Keith C. Wade, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill & Pretty Fire at the Vinnette Carroll Theatre and an original piece entitled Red, White and Black/Blue. Carey is a graduate of the New World School of the Arts and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Chicago's DePaul University. Carey is a member of the Screen Actor's Guild. Carey thanks her First Baptist Church of Bunche Park family, the NAACP, friends and family for their continuous prayers & support and thanks God for the wonder filled blessings of life.

Carolyn Johnson is a veteran actress who has been seen in such plays as the Christmas Cantata, The Rapture, Old Settler and Flyin’ West in which she was nominated the coveted South Florida Curtain Up Award for Best Featured Actress in a play.

Kevin Johnson is excited to come full circle with "The Taking of Miss Janie". Kevin is no stranger to AAPACT after performing as Daniel in "Once on this Island", and being a stage manager for "Siswe Bansi is Dead", but it is "Miss Janie" that his dream is fulfilled, ever since he was supposed to perform a scene from it in High School. Kevin dedicates his peformance to Lisa Robillard, the lady who put this all in motion.

Matthew McCullough is making his debut to professional theatre with “The Taking of Miss Janie”. Matthew has studied fine arts at Florida Memorial University and Florida International University.

Erika Robel is thrilled to be doing her first show with AAPACT. Most recently, she has appeared in "Rumors," which opened at the Thirteenth Street Repertory Theatre in New York City, as well as "The Merchant of Venice" and "Inherit the Wind."plays-The Island and Sizwe Bansi is Dead. He is a Miami-Dade County School Board Educator at William Turner Technical School.

Earlington V. Taylor has been featured in such plays as Top Dog Under Dog, The River Niger , Othello, A Chorus Line, West Side Story, Romeo and Juliet, Once on this Island, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Brigadoon and Music Man.

Nicholas Velkov is thrilled to reprise his role of Lonnie after the Ghostlight Series playreading of Miss Janie last year. Working with Teddy is even better the second time around. Nick was last seen in Brooklyn Boy at Gablestage and is currently touring Miami-Dade public school performing Wheels as part of the Coconut Grove Playhouse education department outreach program.

John Wendell hails from New York City where he studied at the Herbert Berghof Studio and the Stella Adler Studio. His recent credits include President George H.W. Bush in DESERT STORM and Isaac Sagan in AIR, FIRE, WATER for Edge Theatre, Mason/Phipps in AN IDEAL HUSBAND for Curtain Call Playhouse, and the Grim Reaper in KILLER COFFEE for Birch Creek Films.
